Festival of Trees
Kick off your holiday season at the annual Festival of Trees during the open house at the Johnson County Welcome Center. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite tree and, during the open house, can purchase votes. Six votes will cost $5 and there is no limit on the number of votes that can be purchased.
The Festival of Trees continues from December 3 through December 22. Visitors may vote for their favorite tree once per day during this time. The winners will be announced on December 23 and the winners will receive cash awards.
The Welcome Center is open Monday through Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm.
Proceeds will benefit the Johnson County Historical Society & History Museum.

Cookie Walk with Santa at Local's Deli!
Children are welcome to drop by to whisper their Christmas wishes in Santa's ear during the annual Cookie Walk! A variety of cookies are being lovingly baked by the Johnson County Culinary Arts and local volunteers.
The cost is only $3 for a Cookie Bag and choice of beverage: hot chocolate, hot cider, hot wassail, Gnome punch or water. Additional food and beverage is available for purchase through Local's Deli. (Each cookie bag holds about 6 cookies.) Proceeds benefit the Johnson County Historical Society.
The elves from Crystalac will be on-hand to help childen make and take their very own FREE sparkly Christmas Ornament. While supplies last.
There is NO admission charge for children to visit with Santa. Parents are encouraged to take photos. The first 100 children will receive a special gift.

Come early and spend the day with us! After your visit at the Festival of Trees, grab a bite to eat, look at the downtown decorations, see Santa, shop for holiday gifts and make sure you get your photo taken at the Have a Cockle Doodle Do Christmas Display at Knerr's Vintage Treasures!
The Christmas Village with food and craft vendors will open from 4:00-8:00pm at the Courthouse lawn where you will find more bites and delights!

There is nothing like a parade to usher in the Christmas season. The theme for 2023 is Christmas of Yesteryear - reminiscent of the holidays of childhood and a simpler time of life. Adults and children alike will delight in this year's parade that will feature the head elf himself, Santa Clause!
The route will proceed down Main Street, so grab a hot cocoa and a warm blanket and enjoy the show. After the parade, join us for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and live entertainment featuring the Stateline Stompers!

Join us at the Christmas Village for the lighting of our Christmas tree! Live Christmas music will be provided by Randy Dandurand and the evening will feature enterainment by our local clogging team, the Stateline Stompers!
Continue to enjoy the Christmas Village or make plans to attend the Johnson County Community Theater's production of "White Christmas" at the Heritage Hall Theatre ... just a short walk from the village.

One of the most beloved plays of the holiday season will grace the stage at Heritage Hall Theatre as the Johnson County Community Theater presents Irving Berlin's "White Christmas." This iconic production includes some of the best known Christmas songs known today including Happy Holiday, Count Your Blessings and I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm.
The show runs Thursday, November 30 through Saturday, December 2 with curtain times at 7:00pm and a special matinee at 3:00pm on Sunday, December 3. Adults in advance: $10. At the door: Adults $12 / Youth $5 Tickets are available online, at the box office or call 423-727-7444
